Who We Work With

Hands-On STEM Field Trips That Are Easy to Plan

Ringer’s Roller Rink offers hands-on STEM field trips in San Diego that combine engineering, problem-solving, and real-world learning in a unique environment. Designed for students grades K–8, our STEM field trips make it easy to get out of the classroom and into a meaningful educational experience students actually remember.

Educators love that our programs are structured, curriculum-friendly, and simple to coordinate, while students love that learning happens through movement, creativity and play.

Students move through the engineering design process by experimenting, problem-solving, and refining their ideas, then apply those concepts on the rink through roller skating and physical activity. We take care of the planning, materials, equipment, and on-site support, making the entire field trip smooth, organized, and stress-free from start to finish.

Frequently Asked Questions
About STEM Field Trips

Ringer’s STEM field trips are designed to be easy to plan and easy to approve. Most groups are organized by teachers or PTA chairs, and our programs are curriculum-friendly, making the approval process straightforward for schools.

We already work with nearly every school district across San Diego County, so field trip approvals are familiar and simple. Our team understands district requirements and supports organizers through each step, helping trips move smoothly from idea to confirmed date.

Our STEM field trips are especially popular with 4th–6th grade students, while remaining a great fit for grades K–8. We host both single grade-level and mixed-grade groups, making it easy to plan for individual classes, full grade levels, or combined school groups.

During the planning process, please indicate the grade level(s) and we will be sure the activity is tailored to be age appropriate.

Yes. Quad skate rentals and all STEM activity materials are included.

Students may also bring their own roller skates or inlines from home.  We only rent quad roller skates.

We have a limited amount of rental protective gear.  If your group requires that every student wear a helmet, please be sure students bring them from home. Bike or skate board helmets work just fine.

We welcome beginners. Skate Mates are available to help new skaters feel confident, and protective gear is strongly encouraged.

During your time at the facility, roller skating is optional. Students can enjoy our fun and vibrant space at their own pace. During free play time, our arcade, snack bar, and oversized games offer plenty of fun for skaters and non-skaters alike.

Yes. Every student and adult participant must have a signed waiver before skating. Waivers are digital only and must be submitted online prior to the trip. Paper waivers are not accepted.

Our STEM & Skate Field Trip is three hours, allowing time for the STEM activity, roller skating, lunch/snack and transitions.

Most groups join us from 10am-1pm but we will work with you on the time the best fits in your school day.

We welcome students of all abilities. Please let us know in advance if accommodations are needed. Wheelchairs are permitted on the rink, and our staff is happy to support students at their own pace.  1:1 aids will not count in your chaperone ratio and are complimentary.

At this time, we’re not able to offer special pricing, as we do not receive outside funding. We’re always happy to help with the planning side though. If you need a formal proposal, invoice, or paperwork to support grant applications or funding requests, our team is glad to assist.
